Homemade Chicken Tikka Masala Skewers

For the skewers


  • 2 Pkg. free range chicken b
  • 5cm ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp. chili flakes
  • 2 tbsp. natural yogurt
  • 1 lime, juice of it
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp curcuma
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp garam masala

For the cucumber mint dip


  • 200g Greek yogurt
  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 stalks fresh mint
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
  • pinch of sugar


  1. For the marinade, peel and mince the ginger and garlic. Mix all ingredients together well in a bowl.
  2. Cut chicken breast into chunks and add to the bowl. Mix everything well and let it marinate in the spice paste for at least 2 hours.
  3. Cut bell bell pepper into coarse chunks.
  4. Thread alternating chicken and peppers onto skewers.
  5. Grill the skewers on the hot grill for approx. 20 min. all around. Tip: Place the skewers briefly in a bowl of water beforehand. This will prevent them from burning and turning black.
  6. For the cucumber-mint dip, wash the mint well, peel the garlic and chop both finely. Add the finely chopped ingredients to the Greek yogurt and season with salt, pepper and sugar. Add lemon juice and mix everything well.

Side dish: Fresh vegetables and chapati (Indian flatbread).
